I was out with my mom today, and this random lady comes up to us and asks what his name is and if my son is a boy or girl and how old? you’d think the name would give it away, even if she was blind! (she wasn’t)

i was completely dumbfounded by this question because my son was dressed in blue pants, a blue and white shirt and blue and white shoes. He does not what so ever resemble a girl in anyway! i mean even if i dressed him in a dress, he would look like a boy wearing a dress. he has no feminine characteristics at all. his hair is not long or anything like that.

it was just so bizarre!

no one has ever asked me that before. there is no mistake that he is a boy!

if its very clear what gender your child is, what would you have said? has anything like this happened to you? do you think people are just that oblivious?
charlie: i dissagree. there are some babies that you really just cannot tell what gender they are, but for the most part to me boy babies looksl ike boys and girls look like girls. and if they all just looked like "babies" then all babies would look exactaly the same.
avas mommy: im not freaking out. im just saying how strange that it was. and i wasnt rude or anything, i just answered hes a boy. no freaking out happened then or now.
char L: that is frekin’ hilarious!! im sure it wasnt funny at the time, but i cant imagine having a doctor looking at the cord and announcing that it was a boy, but really a girl! sorry,im actually laughing about it.
becca: are you saying that a childs gender is unknown until 8-9 years of age?? wow! where do you get that info??
and no, my son could never pass for either gender. he is very much all boy.
ok so it seems for those who have had people question the gender of the baby, that the asker was older or elderly…lol!! and the lady that asked me was prbably in her 60′s.
i told my husband about it when i got home and he freaked out about it more than i did and he wasnt even there..lol!
